Each time you enter the incorrect unlock code into your handset the number of attempts remaining will display. Once the number of attempts reaches 0 your device will become hardlocked and you will not be able to use the code unlock method in order to unlock your device to any network. As a result of this any devices that have 0 attempts we will NOT be unable to unlock the handset on any of our services offered.
Nokia
Nokia handsets are usually limited to 5 attempts when they are sold. Unfortunately there is not a way to determine how many unlock attempts remain on this make. When you enter the unlock code the device SHOULD state 'Code Accepted' once this is stated your device will be unlocked. If a 'Code Error' message displays on the handset this means you still have remaining code attempts however the code entered is incorrect.
If however a 'Cannot Undo Restriction' or 'Not Available' message displays all of the unlock attempts have been used and we will NOT be unable to unlock the handset on any of our services offered.
Samsung
Samsung devices can become hardlocked as a result of the incorrect network unlock code being entered too many times. If your device is hardlocked the following will be stated when you insert a non supported sim card 'SIM Network PIN is Blocked. Enter SIM Network PUK' should this message be displayed you will require the MCK / Defreeze code in order to enter the unlock code. Please ensure the service you purchase includes both codes if you require both of these, if a service where only the network unlock code is provided is purchased and the issue is later reported we will be unable to provide reimbursement for the services completed. We can provide the reset key for hardlocked Samsung devices on selected services offered.
Sony
Sony devices are usually limited to 5 attempts when they are sold. To check how many attempts are remaining please follow the steps provided:
Dial *#*#7378423#*#*
Select Service Info, Select SimLock
A menu like the one below will be displayed:
There should be an "X" before Network and the counter should show number above 0 (Zero). If your counter doesn't show an "X" or shows 0 (Zero) this means your device is hardlocked and it cannot be unlocked by a network unlock code.
If your device shows 0 (Zero) after network the only way you shall be able to unlock the device is via USB cable. Unfortunately we do not offer this service.
Alcatel
Upon insertion of a non supported sim card if the device states 'THE SLOT HAS BEEN PERMANENTLY BLOCKED' the device is hardlocked as a result of the incorrect codes being entered too many times. If this is the case please DO NOT order the service as the correct unlock code will no longer be accepted as a result of the phone being hardlocked. We are unable to provide reimbursement for such cases.
